How Shoes Should Fit Toes
Tips To Check If Shoes Fit Toes
Wearing shoes that do not properly fit can cause problems for your feet. It is a breeding ground for poor circulation and painful blisters which nobody wants. Wearing tight shoes result in an ingrown toenail and shoes that are too big will make you walk in a dysfunctional way. All of these can lead to some problems. Here are some tips that everyone should know when trying to get the proper shoe size to prevent complications for your toes.
1. Try New Shoes On At The End Of The Day
When trying on new shoes, you should do it at the end of the day. By that time, you have been on your feet for several and this is when most feet are swollen and will be their largest. By trying on shoes when they are at the most expanded, you can avoid tight uncomfortable shoes that pinch your toes.
2. Press In Front Of Your Toes When Trying On New Shoes
The first thing we do when we try on new shoes is press down on the tip of the shoe to see how much room there is for your toes. You should leave at least half an inch of space. But you should also slide your index finger at the back of your heel. If you can do this without any difficulty, then it is a good size.
3. Avoid Narrow Toed Shoes With Wide Feet
If you have a wide foot it is recommended to not wear shoes that have a narrow tip, because it can cause your toes to deform and cause complications.
When you are looking to get a new pair of shoes, be sure to know your brand. Every brand has different shoe shapes and sizes that may or may not be for your feet. Look for a pair that are the same shape as your feet and get the correct size, especially around the toes. Don’t make the looks a priority over comfort.
4. Put On Sock When Shopping For Shoes
While trying on new shoes, wear the types of socks that you would normally wear with that style of shoe. As an example, you don’t want to wear thin socks with sports shoes when you need extra space for thicker, sports socks.
5. Try On Both Shoes
Everyone has one foot that is ever so slightly bigger than the other, so make sure you try on both shoes when shopping for footwear. If you don’t have the time to do this, always make sure you at least try the shoe on the slightly larger foot to get a more accurate size.
6. Make Sure You Have Wiggle Room
To make sure your shoe fit is right for your feet, you should be able to extend all your toes. When you lace them up, they should be snug but not tight, your heel should be secure and you should feel just a little bit of tightness around the middle of your foot.
Avoid wearing shoes with a hard sole. These are rarely comfortable and should only be worn occasionally for formal wear. If your everyday shoes have a hard sole, it is not very comfortable for your toes. Your everyday shoes should be flexible, so when you walk the sole allows a natural movement of your feet and toes.
All in all, your shoes should fit your toes so you are comfortable and do not feel any discomfort. If you have foot problems and are insecure about your foot size go to a professional for help. Make sure that you know a perfect size and the perfect shoe so that you do not have to walk in pain.
