Nike PG 3 NASA 50th
Lovers of sneakers and space rejoice! You don’t need to be a nerd to appreciate the utter coolness of this latest sneaker collaboration. This shoe released by Paul George for Nike celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 space landing, and if you were in any doubt as to it’s design inspiration, you must quite literally have been living in deep space all your life.
Honoring the wonders and otherworldly mystery of outer space, this is already one legendary looking trainer, and it’s only just been released. It’s a future icon in the making, and if you don’t grab yourself a pair soon, you’ll definitely regret it. These sneakers are pretty dope as it goes and while there’s no mistaking that sleek silver treatment, it’s not in the slightest bit ostentatious. Well, depending upon your attitude to style that is! It’s actually a very wearable trainer full of nice design touches. We especially like the NASA patches on the back heel, which really bring the whole theme nicely together.
This commemorative trainer still has all the comfort and technical responsiveness you’d expect from Nike, but the PG 3 NASA 50th is all about those striking design aesthetics. Crafted with 3M reflective mesh paneling, it’s in a tonal silver colorway which is reminiscent of a spacesuit. Both NASA a George’s Nike branding elements co-exist on this futuristic-looking shoe with detailing on the tongue, heel, and the insole. There are further Nike insignias displayed on the inner mesh paneling as well as the legendary Nike swoosh in silver on the midsole.
Flip the shoes over, and the outsoles have a story to tell too. They’ve been given a unique black and white treatment that surely is meant to represent the surface of the moon? You might yourself never get to walk on the surface of the moon, but you can positively channel your inner astronaut wearing these reflective Nike commemorative sneakers.
